The destructive Camp Fire has already burned over 18,000 acres of Butte County, Northern California as of Thursday afternoon, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Colton Percifield captured the video while driving on Windermere Lane on November 8.
The fire is centered in the Feather River Canyon off Highway 70 about five miles east of the town of Paradise which has a population of near 26,000 people.
The wildfire was reported at 6:30 a.m., affecting about 30,000 people, Rick Carhart, a Cal Fire spokesman, said.
Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea says a fire in Northern California is a "very risky and serious situation". Emergency crews were working to help people evacuate there, he said.

Local media reports have shown images of traffic moving away from the plumes of smoke and orange glow of the wildfire. It's very surreal. Things always work out, but the unknown is a little scary. "We had to ride through flames to get here", he said from the side of a road west of Paradise.
