Sen. Amy Klobuchar welcomed Beto O'Rourke to the 2020 presidential race on Thursday, telling CNN's Poppy Harlow in an interview that she believes more competition in the Democratic primary is good for the party and that she isn't anxious about the former congressman's fundraising prowess. O'Rourke went through a list of Democratic priorities, including health care, climate change, family separation and criminal justice reform, gesturing or chopping with his hands to emphasize each point.
"This is going to be a positive campaign that seeks to bring out the very best from every single one of us, that seeks to unite a very divided country", O'Rourke said in a video announcement with his wife on a couch.
Telling the diners that this is his first visit to Iowa, O'Rourke told them that he wanted to hear what's on their minds.
Trump has repeatedly blasted the idea of an O'Rourke presidential try, calling him a "flake" and a "total lightweight" and joking, "I thought you were supposed to win before you run for president".

It is said that the students involved did not know about their parents' collusion with the scam, and are not being prosecuted. The actress, who is best known for her role on " Full House ", was a prominent and popular part of the Hallmark network.
O'Rourke's entry is already reverberating around the crowded field of Democratic presidential hopefuls.
"We saw the power of this in Texas, where people allowed no difference, however great or however small, to stand between them and divide us", the former congressman said, referring to his failed bid to unseat GOP Sen.
The bid comes three and a half months after a narrow loss for Senate in Texas, a campaign that catapulted the 46-year-old, three-term lawmaker from El Paso to national prominence.
While O'Rourke will have to prove his policy bona fides, his strengths - he's a tireless campaigner who won over younger voters - will serve as a test of whether the Democratic base and its legions of young voters are more interested in inspirational figures or candidates whose ideology matches theirs. The son of a powerful El Paso, Texas politician, O'Rourke won election to the El Paso City Council in 2005 and served there until his election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012.

Presidents have never before declared an emergency after Congress voted to deny them money for the same objective . The official was not authorized to publicly private conversations and spoke on condition of anonymity.
"We can free ourselves from the distinction of being the country that imprisons more of its fellow citizens than any other country on the face of the planet", O'Rourke said.
"I'm just born to do this", he told the magazine.
He also held a rally in El Paso on the same night in February that Republican President Donald Trump staged one there.
So much for Beto O'Rourke's star fading because he waited too long to jump into the Democratic Party race for president. "It's a big part of why I'm running", O'Rourke told KTSM in a text message. "So if I were to run, I think it's just so important that those who would comprise my team looked like this country". I think she is a very effective campaigner. "Especially in the fact that there are some really great candidates out there right now".
