Disney had a huge investors meeting today, where they shared the official details behind the launch of their upcoming streaming service Disney+. In addition to this, the service includes parental controls, offline viewing, 4K HDR support and will be priced at $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year.
Plus, Disney+ will be home to more than 5,000 episodes of Disney Channel series (including shows like Lizzie McGuire, Kim Possible, and That's So Raven) and 100 Disney Channel Original Movies.
The entire Signature Collection (which includes animated classics like Bambi, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid, ) will be available on the day of launch. Disney+ will also be available to stream through smart televisions, web browsers, tablets and mobile devices.
Disney Plus plans to hit the ground running higher, further, and faster, launching the streaming service with Marvel's "Captain Marvel" on day one. Though it will be leaving as all Disney content is removed from that streaming giant.
The service, called Disney Plus, will cost $US6.99 ($NZ10.40) per month.
BJP releases election manifesto, vows to strip Kashmiris of special rights
It pledged to simplify the goods and services tax, which disrupted businesses and hurt growth when Modi introduced it in 2017. Voters will elect 543 of 545 MPs to India's lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha.
Also available at the start will be 18 Pixar movies and every one of their theatrical shorts, as well as numerous Star Wars movies.
While it's not a huge surprise that Disney+ is coming to consoles given that so many other streaming services have rolled out onto these platforms over the years, it's still a big market that Disney+ seems to be aiming for in its attempt to take on major streaming competitors in its field, such as Netflix and HBO. The film that kicked off the MCU, "Iron Man", will also be available on the first day of service.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will team for a series titled Falcon and Winter Soldier.
